BEEBEE: I'm not a pilot, but your posts have been very informative and easy to understand. (As was the NTSB prelim someone posted earlier ...)

Thanks I have been a Commericial pilot and a flight instructor for a few years now and it pisses me off when I hear talking heads on the tv talk for the sake of talking and having no idea what that are talking about.

@BEEBEE
It's unfortunate as it's no big deal to get clearance from KPHX especially that far out. Back in my CFI (helicopter)days I sometimes had to circle the Bank of America building a few times during the day to get routed at that time through sharp delta and later echo to transition for example to Goodyear or Glendale from Falcon field. But on the rare occasion when we wanted to climb up east to demonstrate settling with power or let a student practice autorotational glides and rpm control a simple call usually got you advisories of traffic in the area and permission to utilize the Bravo airspace. At night transitioning or even flying into Sky Harbor especially after 2000 or 2100 I swear it sounds like your waking up the tower.

This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee.

Re: Rockwell Plane Crash near Superstition Peak 5,024
I thought there already was one. Someone posted a photoset recently showing a pretty legit looking plaque. It sounds like its not actually going to be at the crash site-- I wonder where then. I'm betting it won't be up top. It'll be somewhere easier to access.
