Bag Me a Peak!

My Bucket List...peakbaggers.com lists 89 Arizona Wilderness Peaks from Humphrey's at 12,637ft down to Imperial Refuge at peak 1085ft.

'I'm sure there are many others and perhaps some of these are not as tasty but I think I'd like to bag a couple...
what are your thoughts on the list (starting with 10 to choose from) and the selected routes.
don't mind all the little notes, those are for myself later on when i forget things

9. Mount Baldy via Mount Baldy Loop (11,400 ft)
8. Escudilla via Government Trail (10,912 ft)
7. Mount Trumbull via Mount Trumbull Trail (8029 ft)

3. Mar Benchmark (7355 ft) unknown route?! - highest point in Paria Canyon-Vermilon cliffs wilderness
2. Mound Mountain via Peak trail (6266 ft) 18 miles **Superstitions!**

Signal Peak? Table Top? Mount Ajo? Sugarloaf Mountain? I can't decide...

for arugments sake and my love of the area...I choose.

i think highest recorded hike we've done recently is 5057 at Superstition Peak...looks like it's time we join in with the BIG kokopellis for some big mountains!

sounds like a plan. once GOYAAH and I plan the Supai trip (which will probably be in april or may) then you and I can plan on some PEAK BAGGING dates.

I'll be doing Mound Mtn next year when we re-create our Reavis Ranch event in early november.
I have a strange urge to hike Mt Lemmon pretty early in the season....probably not my BEST idea due to my current physical condition ( ankle!) but I know other than that I CAN do that hike...just, do I really want to so soon?

"SNIDE"??? I prefer "SNARKY". "Superiority complex" - NO! But if you read my "Cat Mountain - ABORTED" triplog, "hypocrite" might well apply.

Assuming those Mayans were just "blowing smoke" with there "end of the world" prediction on this coming Dec. 21st, then I'll be doing my Cat Mountain "bagging" the way I originally planned sometime before Christmas. I've got three people who want to join me if I can figure out a date which will work for all. If anyone out there in HAZ land wants to join us, then just let me know via this distinguished forum.

What are you doing wasting your clairvoyant talents on this distinguished forum? You should be pickin' stocks, or horses (or your nose?). Both Karen and I were really shocked when P balked at the first scramble. Why did you naturally think of Paul? Given that Paul has hiked thousands (hundreds of thousands?) of mile of all the West has to offer, I would have thought Paul would be the last to bail out of this hike, or any hike for that matter.

I'm so snowed under with work and such I'd almost (but not quite ;) ) be happy with mall walking at this point! Peak bagging sounds wonderful. A walk along the creek sounds wonderful. A stroll in the woods sounds wonderful. A bushwhack in the desert sounds stupendous! Be thankful if you have the time. I am sitting looking out the window at a mountain, but I'm on the clock, and if I want to pay the mortgage, here I stay.

BE THANKFUL if you have the opportunity to get outside in this nice weather! I am VERY thankful I have a couple days off ahead of me, can go to the desert and ride my bike with a relative, and hike along the Colorado River. Then it's back to the old grind again, working three jobs just to keep myself afloat.

@SAMBA Yes, it does surprise me a little that it was Paul. I had told him that he was going to like the route from the pass that you came up with a couple years ago. Told him it was preferable to the way we used to do it up in that steep drainage. I'm sure he'll give me the details when I call him.

Even though we didn't have the pure, unbridled ecstasy of adding a trophy peak to our lists of memorable "baggings", we managed to somehow have a good time sans signing a register. Here's what Karen e-mailed me at the end of our bagless hike:

"I enjoyed the hike today despite the change. I was surprised that Paul wanted to turn around so quickly and even more surprised he had not brought his poles. But best to stay together. Anyhow if you do Cat with your buddy don't forget to tell your FAVORITE hiking buddy. Remember, the one who brings cookies."

It's truly a fun little adventure and it's right in my neighborhood. Highly recommended.

I had plans to do it this week along with Wasson, but they fell through. It looks like a great scramble!

HIPPY....I missed the 2012 Supai trip as I was in Utah or had just returned. I can probably make the 2013 Supai trip if I have enough notice......

We're having issues picking a date right now because the office isn't open for reservations but I'm thinking may this year if GOYAAH is cool with that.
