From what i know Mount Lemmon is more south than Ski Apache and last year, Lemmon was more open than ski apache was. My grandparents lived in Ruidoso and said it seems they have been getting less snow over the years. Except this year they say it feels like a real winter down there

Lemmon gets more pacific moisture in a normal year than Ski Apache. Southern NM's moisture has to come over from Mexico, or up over Texas, so it is a lot drier there in winter.

Aaaargh...! I was going to go cross country skiing at Pole Knoll today, but had a lot of homework to do--I'm taking 4 upper division classes online. Drove up there after 3 pm, but I had actually forgotten I had to go to my evening moonlighting job... I had to turn around in the Pole Knoll parking lot and go back. It was a terrible thing... :( There is more snow up there than I have ever seen before, has to be at least 4 feet. You better believe I am going tomorrow morning, and will take the camera!

So, here it comes again! About midday it started to snow, and was sort of wet, but was sticking on lawns, but not on the roadways. Then it turned to rain. Now it is snowing again. Greer is supposed to get quite a bit, but we are only supposed to get an inch or two. I have plans to meet a friend for xc skiing on Friday...if I can finish my homework in time...

They get zero credit for this last one. A couple of days ago Flag was forecasting 4-8" with 8-12" in the Whites. As recent as yesterday (while it was snowing ... eh, not snowing) forecast still called for 1-3" in Flag and 6-10" in the Whites.

In the end, Flag got nothing, and even Sunrise only got 3". WEAK! :?

We got three inches here in town, so I'm surprised at that Sunrise report. And wet, oh, my. The mud in people's driveways is atrocious. We won't be washing our cars for awhile because they will just get trashed again immediately. My school bus is covered in it.

Eh, I've owned my truck for almost two years and washed it once (other than a couple rainstorms that give it a good rinse for me). I see it as a waste of water when I'm just going to get it dirty on a dirt road within a few days anyway.

Your truck would be rusted away by now, what with all the salt on the roads up here. Plus, we do have a local water supply which is not in too much danger.

It seems like the weather lately has been lousy. There has been a lot of overcast and gray skies since the last big storm in January, but not much snow. I wouldn't mind the lousy weather if we got snow or rain to show for it, but we haven't gotten much of anything. Maybe that will change this weekend, but we're not really forecast to get much of anything. I rather a return the to blue, sunny skies for a while, and preferably on a Friday to Sunday time frame.

I skied on 4 feet of snow today, in the sun, at Pole Knoll. I invited people to come up Sunday and meet me at Basha's at 9 a.m. in Eagar, prepared to ski, but have had no takers other than local people--at least a couple guys are planning to show up.

Offer is still good, but I won't wait past 9:10 a.m. at Bashas'. You'd need to have your skis with you and be ready to go... Or meet at Pole Knoll trailhead about 9:30.

9-12" at Snowbowl, with possibly a couple more during the day today. Looks like about 6-7 down at a normal elevation from the snow stick at Fort Valley.

Hopefully Tuesday-Wednesday brings a similar amount.

I'll take a foot a week over a 4-foot storm once a month!

Great xc ski conditions today. We did have a snow shower around 9 a.m. but it cleared right up. It is kind of too warm, though. It needs to stay just a little colder in order for it to last.

University Heights SW of town had around a foot, and I had 8 to 9 inches of wetter, melted snow on my car when I cleaned it off at 1pm. I had a report of 4 to 6 at a friends house near the base of Elden.
