@Bradshaws I don't care much for the Mexico team, but agree they got done (again) by the referees. They fully deserved their win. Too bad they could not out score Brazil (who I hate worse -- diving cheats) to take first in the group ...

In high school, I broke my nose on a corner kick, which resulted in the only goal I ever scored. I didn't see coming, because the kicker hooked it around the defender who was screening me. Not only did I not see the ball coming, I didn't see the goal, either, because I was somewhat unconscious. :stretch:

EDIT: I should add that I wasn't looking for it because I wasn't the intended recipient of the pass. The kicker just shanked it. Also, seeing as how it was still the dark ages, I was back in the game as soon as the bleeding stopped and I could count fingers.

I can't find the image online, but in 1990 I had a nice poster of an advertisement. Couldn't be more true.

@mazatzal I totally agree. Things being what they are in this day and age, MONEY is what kept that from happening Suarez's contact with Liverpool and his sponsors are what kept him playing. The real test will be to see what Liverpool and his sponsors do now.
