I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
I was expecting a few bucks, but was pleasantly surprised to see I had built up a $100 dividend! DADDY GOT NEW BOOTS! $125, deduct the 20% for one single item...made them $100, applied my dividend and viola...FREE BOOTS!

You may want to look into the Osprey Exos 58. It's about 1 pound lighter. But I do have the Atmos 65 and that can handle about 45 lbs pretty comfortably.

I had heard that some thought they were too rigid, and no real give..so they dug into hips..but I think I might prefer that actually...

@chumley
Thanks for letting us know! I didn't get a big dividend--it was $22--but was enough to order a bicycle pump I was needing that does both Presta and Schrader. I just now ordered it. I only went over by 66 cents, so not bad.

I got my non-REI dividend whenever I bought something last year... although I priced everything at REI before buying, all my hiking gear purchases were made elsewhere and I saved well over 10% on everything, closer to a 20% average.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
The kayak I got at REI was listed other places at the same price or higher, and getting it thru REI meant I didn't have to worry about shipping costs or shipping to my house while I'm not there. The convenience of picking it up in store, plus getting ~$75 back later, made it entirely worth my while. <3 to REI.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
I usually shop around, to find a better deal, but still buy stuff from them. I also sent them a complaint. They were out of stock of convertible pants in normal women's sizes, had only the plus sizes. It was October. I sent them a message asking them why they were out of stock, and mentioned that while it may be the end of the hiking season in some areas of the country, for a significant number of their customers in the Southwest it was the beginning of the hiking season.

Re: I LOVE MY REI DIVIDEND!
Yup, I know its :bdh:chumley wrote:Did you also buy a record player? Cause it's broken.
But... one could argue the same about this whole thread... ;)
While I agree it's nice to hear folks shout out in thanks for a windfall of sorts, I equate this with a tax refund... we overpay $ throughout a full year so the government (or in this case REI) can use the money for that period, then giving back what was our money in the first place.
And we're expected to be overjoyed, kicking our feet in the air and whooping it up for this great windfall?

Sorry if I don't join you... besides I'd probably fall wrong and end up in the hospital. :stretch:
So I think I'll just keep my feet on the ground, thank you!
@chumley/Tough_Boots/et al... How about we declare a truce?
If everybody only jumps for joy once each year crowing about their REI dividend I'll limit

Either that or we all
