Best Phoenix Hikes?

I am generally new to Arizona, I have hiked all over my home back in British Columbia. I have already hiked the Scottsdale preserve, like Tom's Thumb and Thompson Peak, and really liked the satisfaction of reaching the peak. For this fall/winter I have been looking to plan more hikes, already have the popular ones like Camelback and Pinnacle on the list, but I am writing this to ask if anyone has suggestion on peaks/mountains to hike here in Maricopa County that are rewarding for the challenge they are. Thank you!

So many, depends on if you require a trail, or can do off tail. Might be easiest to use the hike dex, but some great local desert peaks are Bighorn, Estrella Peak, Newman Peak, Piestewa for crowds, Saddle, 5024/Flatiron, and on, and on.

While there is not a county sort option here are a few to ponder in the 1000 ft Ascent Peaks - HAZ Phoenix Region

a couple not too far from Phx with trails to consider too
[ Vulture Peak ]
[ Hunter Trail - Picacho Peak ]

BTW... your occupation is highly admirable

do a google search on "lists of john maricopa county" and you'll see a list of over 1,000 peaks in Maricopa County

bagging those should keep you busy for a while...and at some point you might want to try the highest peak in Maricopa County: Brown's Peak
