Southern Oregon Hike Recommendations

Post by ddgrunning »

Suggestions for good day hikes from a home base in Florence. Distance and difficulty are secondary to coolness and appropriateness, given the season. TIA.

I'm driving to Eugene for the holidays, have family there. I'm bringing a folding bike to ride along the Willamette River bike path. The only adventuring I've done in Florence was paddling the Siltcoos River from Siltcoos Lake to the ocean. You can also hike along the beach to the river's mouth. Of course, it's flat, but it's gorgeous. Lots of birds, harbor seals, etc.
