Drunken shenanigans in the McDowells
Got to the 104th/Bell TH this morning at around 530 to crank out some mileage, and after a few yards down the trail, i hear the motoring of an ATV coming down just behind me. Oh great I thought, another @$$hole out hear ruining the brand new trail that have just been constructed. So after he passes by me (and oddly comments that i have nice calves) i do "my duty" and call the police to let them know, although there's not really anything that they would do i'm sure, but at least i'll feel better. So I go on with my hike, get back to the TH at about 930, and there's a guy in a black land rover wearing a TPC shirt from the golf course just down bell rd. He askes me if ive seen any guy on an ATV pass through here and i tell him about the guy i saw this morning, and it turns out he was completely drunk, broke into the golf course and made off with the ATV and one of their radios, and wrecked it not too far up another trail, then climbed to the top of a peak babbling on and on to the radio. I wish i could make crap like this up, but some people do pretty interesting things. Hope those guys have fun finding him and getting their ATV back... :stretch:

Kalishnakov! It was a Kalishnakov!! No, that's pretty hilarious. I heard a similar story once about some stoned guy stealing an NPS Ranger's radio and mumbling: "The juice is loose" over and over again until the battery died or he passed out wherever he went...the rangers weren't sure which.fairweather8588 wrote:Ah crap, you caught me, I grabbed a sixer of coors and ran outta gas about a half a mile away from where I was shootings saguaros with a shotgun

Re: Drunken shenanigans in the McDowells
Had something called Durango Light once, the fact that it was discontinued should have been enough to scare me and my brother away
Back to the story though, the cops came by and asked me some more questions, looks like this guy might be in some trouble

Sounds like he was determined to get caught. He's lucky it didn't turn out any worse.
