Is that why it is so smoky in the Valley (even central Phoenix) this morning?

it was indeed smoky as I could barely make out the McDowells coming into work this AM. Seems a long way for that smoke to travel though.

Smoke in the valley continues to get worse. I can see the difference between 10 AM and about 1 PM now.

Does anyone know what the relation of 41 Cave -- where Robert Fisher disappeared -- is to the fire zone?

41 club is on the Rez, but close to the boundary. This fire has the potential to be devastating to the most significant Karst area in Az outside of the potential in the Redwall in northern az. It will be a major concern to keep several caves from silting up, and in fact some may be destroyed as is the cycle of nature with man's hand in it.
