‘Part of it is these animals aren’t spayed or neutered, so they’re out looking for a mate and are having babies, which also contributes to the problem.’
Officials said they do not have enough staff to respond to all the service calls coming from residents in Maryvale.
It is unclear to me where anything about chihuahuas plays a factor in this news story.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

I'll bet you could find 'em a home... where they could run.. and chase what they are supposed to chase...
You have your mission...

Since relocating to the westside I have noticed this in my neighborhood as well. Can't go for a walk or a run without having a little rat dog chasing me. But I'll take a rat dog over the free range pit bulls I have run into while out running.

@The Eagle
A couple of years ago before we got our current canine companion a Chihuahua came in our open front door. He was a real cutie and we named him Kevin, why not. Anyhow it became apparent that Kevin was not ours, belonged to someone and would suck as a hiking dog, since he could be eaten by anything short of a ground squirrel.
Turned out his name was Chewie.

Did you make that determination empirically?

@big_load
He belonged to a little boy a couple blocks away.
I just remembered that he wouldn't eat anything but tortilla chips..... :)
