Superstition Crest info wanted

I'm looking for info on this site for a hike labeled "Superstition Crest" in Best Loop Hikes AZ by Bruce Grubbs. I don't have the book and don't find this hike listed. Is it perhaps listed under a different name? Thanks.

I don't believe that that loop is written up on HAZ as it is described in the book.

But the pieces that make it up are all here.

Here's a map of all the routes in the Superstitions: http://hikearizona.com/map.php?X=469&u=2847
You can use Route Manager if you wish to cut and paste the various pieces together into your own downloadable route.

The route begins on Peralta to Freemont, then uses an off-trail portion of the Dacite Super Loop up to the Ridgeline before dropping down along the Old West Boulder Canyon Ridge to Dutchman and back to Peralta.

Thanks for the list of trails to link. I just ordered the book today, but was hoping it might show up here. I love having a preloaded GPS route in case I veer off route.

Hi Mr Squishhy:
You might be thinking of the Ridge Line trail in the Superstition Mountains. It starts at Lost Dutchman State Park in Apache Junction and ends at Kearny Ranch. It's roughly a 12 mile hike over 4 mountain ranges.
I have done this trail several times. You don't want to do it from June to September. The next 4 months would be ideal.
If interested let me know. we are always looking for hiking buddies.

While a part of the Superstition Crest Loop follows the ridge-line trail, it does not begin or end at either Carney Spring TH or Lost Dutchman State Park. Also, this loop is some distance longer than the ridge-line at 19 miles.

The route Chumley (see three posts up ^) mentioned is pretty much right on.

@Bob Lacourse
over 4 mountain ranges
Just one range ;)

One could hike from Globe to Lake Roosevelt, highway 88, and back down to AJ hitting every peak and valley along the way in the nearly 160,000 acre wilderness area and still remain on the same range.

I am not thinking of the Ridgeline trail. The Crest route is something completely different.
