Flagstaff urban trail or bypass out east?

Post by Norikiyo »

Hey all,

I'm currently 2 weeks into a sobo and bunkered up in Flag as the snow is about to hit. I took the urban trail in, which I believe is about the same distance to taking it out to I40 and then hitching.

My question now is should I hitch out to the bypass and pick it up south from there? Is it an especially nice section? Otherwise, it seems simple to just pickup the urban trail south although this may cut out 10 miles or so.

You would miss some of Walnut Canyon, but you really have to take some side trails to see it anyway.

Okay cool. It just makes more sense to urban trail it out logistically and enjoy my walk to the Mogollan Rim.
