The view as seen from Valentine Arch. The waypoint bandito(Bruce) found a waypoint by DW David dubbed Overlook Arch. Which was the hike today.

Approaching, we needed to skirt a large ridge formation. I had recently consumed a monster out of respect for Grover and I wanted to get this wonderful hike over a little quicker while I had the energy... Lol

Team A followed Bruce's planned route. Contrary to what Bruce thinks I was not born under a rock and I can read a topo on the fly, so I headed straight up with three good points of contact and the balance of a weeble wobble.

I encountered two areas of class 3. If I wasn't jacked up on monster I would have turned around in a heartbeat. It happened to be on my good right side so I went for it. It wouldn't be problematic for anybody else. I was using my right hand to stabilize and ascend, which is also the hand I use to blink my eye.

If the course doesn't pan out or a water droplet blurs my depth of field it's game over. If I slow down to adjust direction, I would lose my balance. Midway up I realized it was rotten rock. The handholds were coming off left and right... Lol

It all worked out and I thought I found our destination Arch. I hung my pack on a pebble in the middle of the arch and scrambled up the left. After sitting there for 5 minutes I panned my vision to the right and saw Overlook Arch.

As it turns out I was sitting on Valentine Arch. [ photo ]

Decided to leave my pack hanging and scramble up and see if I could see tweedle dumb and tweedle dee on the flip side of the ridge. As soon as I crested they were approaching without a clue that they had just passed Overlook Arch.
