Occupied Bald Eagle nest. No way you're going to see much unless you're 1000 feet away. Certainly not from the water even 300 feet away. But there is a tail there and judging by color, it's a juvenile, maybe not fledged yet. Some of the kayakers saw an adult and juvenile in the air about this same time.
