Here's why I'm fascinated by Marion Spring. When I was here two years ago in the snow, I saw this trail leading that way. At the time, I thought that perhaps Thru-hikers went this way for water. (The trail has good tread/ is well used.)

Now I know that almost all Thru-hikers just follow the line, single file, as they race along make their 20 mile days.

As I zoom in on MapDEX, if I have it correct, I see that this is GPSJoe Search (yikes), Upper Sheep Creek Loop (one of Joe's), Copper Canyon Loop, and more. Bizarre to me since there is no signage here for such apparently popular trails.

I could see the two ridge lines and was tempted to try just going a hundred yards in. But 1) it had rained/graupel'd the night before and was probably muddy/slippery, as going back down LSM proper was. 2) I hadn't eaten last night and kind of beat from dealing with hypothermia from the storm. 3) If I tried it, no one would find me. 4) You all warned me to not try it.

But maybe this fall?
