A nice lady offered to take my photo here after I had taken a photo for her with her 3 dogs. That's her leash with the 3 dogs pulling it tight. She offered to let me use her single trekking pole to get across the creek. I could see that being a disaster if she tried to cross with those dogs without a trekking pole so I declined. One of the dogs stubbornly refused to step in the water and almost pulled her off balance in the middle of the creek before she could get it to budge.
