We saw this plant the next day as we were heading down the Super Trail to the TH. There were a couple patches is all of this purple blooming plant. It has a "Desert Rue" look to it. GL says broom dalea (Psorothamnus scoparius), a type of indigo bush native to the southwestern United States and northern Mexico.
