ZOOM: Dwarfed by the adjacent air traffic radar dome, Humboldt Mountain Lookout was built by the FAA to Forest Service specifications in 1958. The CL-100 R-6 metal flattop cab with catwalk on a 30 steel tower replaced a 1940 L-4 on a stone foundation. The Tonto National Forest station is in active service.
