The hike consists of 3 parts: 1) the hike from FR203 down to Cherry Creek (the equivalent of going down 1 A mountain in Tempe); 2) the hike along the creek (fairly level); and 3) the hike up a ridge line and over to the ruins ( the equivalent of going up 3 A mountains). The footing is much worse than any trail on A mountain.
