The nearer peaks are the extension of the Organ Mountains that are Rhyolite. Beyond that the rock transitions to Limestone. The San Andreas to the north, and Franklins to the south are Limestone as well. The Difference between the Monzonite "Organ" group and the southern Rhyolite Peaks is noticeable from the west. Not only in appearance of the shape of the peaks, but by color.
