My wife and I were driving on a one and a half lane country road between Trois Ponts and Hamoir, Belgium, when we stumbled across this memorial south of Werbomont. It is dedicated to the crew of a RAF Lancaster bomber that was shot down near Werbomont by top German night fighter ace Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer on August 18, 1944.
