The Sargent cypress forest Big Carson Ridge and San Geronimo Ridge. Sargent cypress is a characteristic of serpentine soils with its relatively low amount of nutrients and high toxicity. The cypress here grow to no more than 15' high. Many specimens only attain a few feet in height.
