Lunch was under the only tree in Camp Bouse. The entire area was scraped clear when the Army arrived in early 1943. So, all the brush you see in these photos is less than 70 years old, including the few saguaros that were probably so small at the time, they were not noticed. Otherwise, the only saguaros are outside the main post limits.
