a nice rendering of the dam site I think. I wondered where the road on lower left of photo went but it looks like there is a house. Now imagine looking down there and seeing nothing but water all the way up the canyon walls and 3/4 way up the mountains. See next photos as here is where you can get a real sense of the glacial floods out of Glacial Lake Missoula which is still many miles away yet. However, not too far from here, closer to Noxon, is where the ice dam formed and would be broken over a 2,500 year period.
