I had not noticed this on the way in, but on the way out, I spotted the crossed sabres out of the corner my eye. Being retired Army, I knew it meant something to do with the cavalry. I hit the brakes, backed up, and got out to read it. Wow. Medals of Honor were awarded to two Buffalo Soldiers -- SGT Benjamin Brown and CPL Isaiah Mays -- for their actions during an ambush at this location in Cottonwood Wash. Gave me shivers to be standing on the same ground.
