This is the coach of my oldest GDs swim club- the "Austin Trinity Aquatic Club"..Mind-Body-Water!!
( Head coach Doug Russell swam on the 1968 U.S. Olympics Team with Mark Spitz.. a tough, no nonsense swim coach who expects a 100% every day. I was pretty amazed & impressed at the kids and family commitment that this competitive team swimming requires)
Coach Russell: "At the 1968 Summer Olympics, Russell won the first-ever gold medal awarded in the men's 100-meter butterfly—an event which made its debut at the 1968 Olympics–in an upset over teammate and favorite Mark Spitz. Russell was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame as an 'Honor Swimmer' in 1985."
