This is the junction between the Sherwin Lakes Trail and the Valentine Lake Trail. It appears that the forest service does not want people hiking on the Valentine Lake Trail below the Sherwin Lakes Trail junction. The lower section of the Valentine Lake Trail has not been maintained in years.
