The front wall across the front of the cave was probably originally much taller. The section still standing served as a retaining wall to level the cave floor and provide more floor space. The pile of rocks behind the bush growing in the mouth of the cave are from the wall that extended partway across the front of the cave from the side behind the bush. This is based on a site diagram in Lange's book.
