The Forest Service got a grant to build this trail. It was completed around 1999 or so. They built this trestle plus many cattle guards so that you could cross through the fences without stopping. None of the cattle guards are in use any longer. They have either been removed or blocked by the rancher. To get to the bridge you have to ride down a pretty darn steep slope, because they didn't build the bridge the same length as the original train bridge. Better than no bridge, however. It needs repair, however.
