The summit of Saddle Mountain is in perfect alignment with the north runway at Sky Harbor, 60 miles due east on an alignment about a quarter mile north of Buckeye Road. So landing lights for aircraft on approach to runway 26 were beautifully in view all night from a distance of 80 miles or so when they enter the landing pattern.
On the left, Barry Goldwater flashes red 30 miles away, and the towers on South Mountain are visible too at 57 miles.
Palo Verde is the dominant light on the right, just 10 miles away.
