Almost walked right past this brass marker. It's not the usual USGS Geodetic Survey marker -- it says DEPT OF PARKS & RECREATION CALIF around the perimeter. The text stamped in the middle appears to say "PROP COR" "NO. 34" "18/4280" "1985" - I'm guessing the last one is the year it was placed there. It's not well placed as it is in dirt not rock and it is sticking up several inches out of the ground.
