More mud. I stayed on the less muddy part myself. I've done this trail when it was very muddy everywhere and the sticky, slippery mud accumulated on my boots until each boot weight several pounds and there was no friction with the ground whatsoever. This time it was much better as there were only a handful of muddy spots and each had an solid side path.
