This sign has survived several HAZFests but disappeared Friday morning. Chumley suspected the Forest Service and chased down one of their trucks to complain but they claimed innocence. Later that day another FS truck stopped by camp and the two rangers confessed to having removed the sign that morning. They routinely remove signs and pick up litter on Fridays before the weekend crowd shows up. They thought the sign had been left behind by campers the previous weekend. After apologizing they set the sign back up. An understandable mistake but it explained why the forest was so clear of litter.
