The grass is matted down and there's an obvious path through it. Back when we did the hike in 2014, the grass somewhat before this section was waist high, obscuring the cairns. There was no path through it and we all brought our feet high to press the grass down ahead of us as we walked through it. On our recent hike, this wasn't a problem at all.
