The "Red" Trinity Alps are way out there in the distance. The basin in the foreground holds the headwaters for the North Fork Sacramento River. The next basin is the Middle Fork Sacramento River's headwaters, and then the South Fork Sacramento River's uppermost reaches are beyond that. The Trinity River runs through the deep drainage in the middle-right portion of the picture.
