Memorial Day. Why I was here. That's my 96 year old Uncle Bernard Frederick Romain, a WWII Navy vet. I found out that he was on Hiroshima a month after the bomb. He talked about walking over skeletons and he has a picture of two sailors holding them. Old age is setting in for him but he still has a pretty sharp memory and boy can he get sassy. He is the last surviving Romain of my grandparents.
