For many, its these historic signatures that are the biggest draw at El Morrow. Some date back to the 1600's. Even more interesting to me is the efforts put into erasing signatures from the 20th century - those were deemed to be "graffiti" and vandalism. Is it more vandalism to scrape the rock clean? Ah, the questions of preservation!
