About 0.1 mile north of Dane Spring the route exits the Ubar trail going through a break in the cliffs as it descends to the bottom of Dane Canyon. The route follows what appears to be a well worn Elk trail but it may have had some human maintenance over the years. There is no marker at the exit point from the Ubar trail so its useful to have a gps track.
