View from the wall of one of the structures that was inside the cave. The entire cave was full of shrines and offerings like: bows, pottery, carved staffs, cloth, carved shells, baskets, beads, games, cane cigarettes, and etc when it was discovered. Sadly, like most of the archaeological sites in the area, this cave had been looted by local ranchers before the archaeologist arrived to formally survey it. A fact that has changed my thinking some on these sites. I used to be under the assumption that contemporary visitors posed the greatest threat to these sites. However, after reading the early 20th century archaeological report from this area, I now know that most of these sites were trashed and looted the moment they were found by the ranchers and pot hunters in the area.
