Dispersed camp site about a quarter mile from the trailhead. There were several dispersed camping sites along the drive up Soldier Creek but none offered shade. I made the best of a lone tree at this site and stretched a small tarp over the top of the car to give it some shade. It would get hot in the afternoon even at the 6700 ft elevation. I left the car here in the "shade" and started the hike from camp.
