The trail follows Soldier Creek through the basin and is always handy to refill water bottles. This was common on the trails I hiked in these mountains so I never carried more than 2 liters of water but kept a filter in my pack in case I needed more. On this hike I ran out of water at the turn-around point at Hidden Lakes and had to get out the filter.
