Gotta love the berries of the Chinese Pistachio tree. I see they are called drupes. Only female trees produce fruit, but they won't set seed unless a male tree is growing near enough for the wind to carry pollen to the female trees. The berries start out green in the summer, turning red in the fall and blue-purple in the winter. They are ornamental, especially after the leaves drop. A large variety of birds use the berries for food; thus the Cardinals I usually see in this area.
