We started our explorative hike at the top of the blue line, then went back north up the black segment, which is essentially the 1926 route of US Route 99. A lot of transportation history here - Old Stage Road to the west follows the old Hudson Bay trade route known as the Siskiyou Trail, then became the primary stage road and early highway between Yreka and Dunsmuir.
