This restored warehouse at Cushwa Basin was once a major dock, and one of the few places on the C&O Canal where a boat could turn around. It is now the Williamsport Visitors Center. Note the flood gauge: In 1936, the Potomac River crested 48.6 ft. above normal — roughly the top of the word “Brick”.
