Halloween Room
Basement -- The bright paintings adorning the walls of this large room were once thought to have been painted by Cornelia Vanderbilt and some helpful guests during a Halloween party. It's now believed, however, that they were instead painted for a New Years party in 1925.
Lower left: This is the hallway in the basement to the pantries, cooking, female employee quarters, cleaning/laundry rooms and sports rooms including a bowling alley and swimming pool. This lady was walking around dusting.
