At first I thought this was an owl "pellet" or some kind of scat but it was yucca fiber. The hohokam used this for many things including sleeping mats and sandals.
Update 12/15/21. This has beed ID'd as "quid", the equivalant of Hohokam chewing gum. Sometimes mixed with wild tobacco.
