"Castle Creek Waterfall:" Castle Creek Wilderness is a remote area in the Bradshaw Mountains that required my hiking 10 miles round trip in fully exposed sun and water crossings somewhere around at least 15 times each way but I honestly lost count, including a fairly high and fast-moving Bumble Bee Creek to start. This ephemeral waterfall is listed as125 feet tall and is limited in flows from recent heavy rains or snowmelt, so timing is critical. I caught the tail end of the water's flow here, but at least was lucky to capture some unexpected wildflowers in the vicinity. This image was taken in spring of 2020. I encountered zero other people during my entire trek there and back. It was a long day. Sadly, this past year, a wildfire swept through this entire area, and I wonder how vastly the views have changed since then. I am grateful that I was able to venture out here when I did and capture some photographs at that time. Thank you so much to Joe Bartels and Joel Hazelton for responding to my inquiries during the research stage of my planning this solo trip.
