Historic photo of Ophir from the 1870s. The massive stone walls of the ruins at the present day site are not visible in this photo. The stamp mill built in 1865 would have been out of sight behind the photographer or perhaps he was standing on top of the stamp mill. However the stone walled mine office and mansion would have been located on the left side of the road approximately at photo center but can't be seen in this photo. Perhaps it was built later. It's also possible that this is the wrong Ophir, NV, since Ophir was a popular name for mine sites in NV. The mountains in the background at the mouth of the canyon don't match a Google Earth 3D view looking out the mouth of the canyon.
