This June 2007 Google Earth image shows the area surrounding Park Tank covered with what appear to be uniformly sized trees. This was probably a re-growth of juniper trees following a previous effort many years ago by the Forest Service to remove trees to provide more pasture area for cattle. This has been done in two other nearby areas that I am aware of: Redmond Mesa and Buckaroo Flats. Unfortunately the juniper trees soon come back.
