Yep, glad I'm not there anymore but we had those temps back in my day and much more so than now. Back in my day they were worried about global cooling. I'll always remember reading an article about it in US News and World Report. My how times have changed. I feel bad for the animals when temps dip like this.

To give you an example what this is like, especially when there is snow, bulls reproduction juice holders (you will love how HAZ re-interprets what I actually wrote but you get the idea) will freeze. Bulls are very expensive so this is not good at all.

I understand that the wind will be blowing too so that means the cattle move eastward. Many times we would find our bulls in the next county as they push through the barbed wire fencing; thus why they are branded... it's kind of like dog tags. My dad would get the call, "John, we got one of your bulls over here". One year we had a few that got pretty far east and we had to go herd them back on horseback to where the cows were. Well my dad caught me trotting them and said not to do that because they had business to do when they got to the cow pasture. But those bulls were fooling us because the moment they got there, they took off at almost a run. I'll never forget that as it was the same day that I cracked my tailbone from riding on a non-padded saddle all day.
